Tomato Salsa Dip

Garlicky, fresh, sharp, salty tomato dip.

Tomato Salsa Dip

Ingredients

  • 200g cherry tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 green chili
  • 2 tbsp sundried tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp tomato oil from the sundried tomatoes
  • Juice of 1/2 fresh lime
  • Sprinkling of salt

Method

  1. Blend the cherry tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, coriander leaves, garlic, and green chili with a food blender.
  2. Pour the chopped ingredients into a bowl.
  3. Stir in the salt, lime juice, and tomato oil.
  4. Serve cold with hot food, or at room temperature with room-temperature food.

Notes

Best served cold if served with hot food, or at room temperature with room-temperature food.

Why it works for taste loss

This dip gives strong contrast through lime acidity, garlic sharpness, chili heat, salt, and the deeper umami-rich tomato flavour from the sundried tomatoes and tomato oil. Served cold alongside hot food, it also adds temperature contrast, which can make the dish feel more noticeable for people with reduced taste.
